This has been my pinned tweet for years but it's as true here as it was there: the highlight of my #gamedev career to date was this spectacular bug from #StarWarsBattlefront Elite Squadron on the #PSP.
How do I explain to the spud that this is a terrible design for a weapon & he should be ashamed for even asking for it? Where's Jonathan Ferguson (the keeper of firearms and artillery at the Royal Armouries museum in the UK) when you need him?

A kind soul brought some gingerbread folk to the office and supplied icing and edible eyes for decoration. I am very proud of my creation but others say he makes them 'uncomfortable'! How rude! He even put pants on!

Companies' desperate scramble to rebrand everything they do as somehow "AI" reminds me of the 80s when everything had to have 'turbo' written on it. Except infinitely more lame.

My biggest hater take is probably that I find Fortnite to be absolutely dystopian. It's giving me feelings of dread and despair to see all these intellectual properties™ come together in a franchise slurry.

Okay, so "Last Christmas" was - in my opinion, obviously - a terrible song when it was released and time has not improved it.

Moving on, I am reminded of how Jona Lewie's "Stop the Cavalry" became a Christmas song, much to his bafflement.

It's the first day of Advent (well, technically the second day, I'm told, but sod that), so I am going to inflict my annual torture upon you all. It's time for MALENGINE'S ADVENT ADVENTURE.

This weekend's job was to finish painting and fit this replacement leg/parchment "flying stand" to one of Celestine's Geminae Superior. They look great and are surprisingly robust but are a nightmare to transport. The previous one had already broken more than once so a a full replacement was needed.

Shared Fantasy, the first sociological monograph about roleplaying games, is about a period when established players are dealing with a new wave of younger players with different priorities. The period is 1978.
A game where you can do anything and they’re mad that people are doing anything.

A lovely retrospective on the 360, pretty much my favourite console of all time. I still have my slim edition but seeing the original white edition with its box, the green and orange baggies, etc. brings back a lot of good memories.

Opening a boxed and unused Xbox 360! They released it two decades ago now, so this was the perfect time to unbox a 60GB Pro model, set it up, enjoy the Blades, and play some games. While HOPEFULLY avoiding red rings. Jump in!

Flying visit to @retrocollective.co.uk 's The Cave today to give a talk about the varied roles in game development to a bunch of visiting students. Lots of good questions and follow-up chats so at least some of them must have been awake by the end! One of the tutors was a big Sniper Elite fan too!

Check out little me on the left. Rocking a cracking bowl cut and barrel of 'tude.

And it was the 80s. Everyone's shorts were like that. Don't judge me.
I think you were probably only about 5. But we had a fun day out in Scarbados with steam haulage both ways. And we got the badges to prove it!

Hey all, do I have any UK based concept artists following me (or who knows anyone) who would be up for a long term 22 month contract working on Dragonwilds at Jagex? Remote with a very occasional day in office in Cambridge. Development experience and fantasy genre work is a must. Mid level role.

I mean don't get me wrong, the trailer is fun, but tonally it's very weird if you have any comprehension of the original.
Kill Bill, the movie where folks are regularly chopped up gratuitously, appearing in Fortnite, a game regularly played by kids across the world...?

Sometimes I wonder if I'm in a coma and my fantasy world is slowly unravelling.
A narrative sequel to Kill Bill is premiering in Fortnite later this week, over 20 years after the original film
