When I first saw the story I thought is said "...loosen rules for home-based meth makers". I just thought, oh well.
as someone who plans to build a shed on my boundary in which to make cakes so I can buy a 1949 Studebaker which will only need a yearly WOF, and whose waste engine oil I can simply tip in the ocean without penalty, I'm really starting to warm to this government

Government to loosen rules for home-based cake makers
It's promising to make it cheaper and easier for hobby bakers to sell their goods.

I will be reverting to the old Consumer NZ recommendation: How much discount will give me if I don't use the card?

"One way to tell if you're living in an autocracy is by asking this question: Do people feel free to express their dissent? All around me, I see civic leaders not saying what’s really on their mind. And over time, self-censorship can lead to internal spiritual and moral collapse."
America Needs a Mass Movement—Now
Without one, America may sink into autocracy for decades.

This poll now has someone else at 50%. Half of people want someone else not on this list to lead National.
Come vote for "Someone else" with me to mess up Bishop's numbers! #NZPol

1/2 Link in thread
Chris Bishop received the highest percentage of votes with 38%.
Erica Stanford and Christopher Luxon followed with 18% and 17% respectively.
"Someone else" received 21% of the votes, which is the second-highest result.
Nicola Willis and Simeon Brown each received 3% of the votes.
Please dive in and for ‘someone else’. We can do this! Someone less for PM!

We are at 38%. The story needs a new headline : more than 1/3 of voters want some else as leader.
Gosh, I had not considered the risk that this poll will develop its own gravity, collapse on itself, and take the government with it.
Naughty Foxy. 🤪I just voted. Twice.

This week 21,000 teachers are taking part in a staggered strike before a full day national strike happens on October 23.
My Stuff #cartoon today #NZpol #Teachers #children #Unions
Cartoon. Title: “A Word From the Head Honcho” Image shows PM Christopher Luxon standing in front of a photo of striking teachers. He’s saying, “It’s shameful - shameful - the way teachers are playing politics with children” then he says, “That is my job”
I shared! my mother was a remedial reading teacher for 30-odd years. She used any and all means possible to help kids progress.
I just want one that fits properly!
Thanks for writing that Kyle.

In honour of spooky month, share a 4 word horror story that only someone in your profession would understand.

"The card wasn't blocked"
Yes, I have, and it really just riles me now. How can they comment on one thing and then expect to be taken seriously on anything else?
I reckon, and sorry about the language, but these so-called journalists should just f**k off with their reckons. They have completely lost any position they might have had for 'holding power to account'. They are just in it for clicks, and their pathetic little egos.
It is a real shame. Genuine UX research has been replaced by click-driven design, hence why there are so many anti-patterns. It's also why most media websites are so bad. Newspaper thinking is still driving most of the decision-making IMHO.
It must be having an impact on their numbers. I go there much less than I did because life is just too short.
