Cleo Hearn, who died Nov. 9 at 86, was a Texas rodeo legend.

A Black cowboy who learned to ride during the Jim Crow era, he founded Cowboys of Color Rodeo, bucking stereotypes and encouraging generations of young riders to join in the western tradition.
