The Chancellor's decision to cut energy bills by raiding the Warm Homes Plan isn't a genuine solution to fuel poverty; it's robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Ridiculous to prioritise short-term headlines at the expense of long-term delivery when costs could be funded by taxing wealth.

Govt has just slipped out its North Sea Future Plan while all eyes are on the budget.

Glad govt sticking to manifesto promises not to grant new licenses but disappointing to see tie-backs allowed - a needless concession to an industry in decline that won't help energy security.

Brexit has smashed a *massive* hole in our economy

🫣 Up to £90bn a year in lost tax revenues

😬 UK’s GDP 6-8% smaller

😮 Equating to between £2,700 and £3,700 *per person*

No wonder Reeves is struggling to make the sums add up

🔥 Rachel Reeves says there’s a “hole” in the public finances.

A new decade-long Brexit study quantifies it:

A 6–8% hit to GDP

That's £180bn-£240bn a year

It means less tax revenue and so less money for everything.

Brexit made Britain MUCH poorer.

Billions in subsidies across Europe still flow into measures that harm nature and climate. The new @naturaconnect.bsky.social factsheet clearly shows where we can act — and how much potential is in reorienting existing funding.

🚨 In Europe alone, up to €48 billion in subsidies can have negative environmental impacts.

By redirecting subsidies from harmful practices to nature-positive actions, we can support sustainable recovery efforts.

Last night the Government steamrollered its Planning Bill through, slamming the door on vital protections for nature.

They said it would be a ‘win-win’ for the economy and nature.

But in reality, they’ve pushed nature into last place.
