The most generous assessment I can give is it’s a misguided attempt to triangulate with a mythical “red wall” voter.

I don’t think they even recognise the problem, they’re acting like it’s still the 90s & writing a column in the Sun (!?) is all you need.

They also think you only campaign just before the GE. Er, no, in the attention economy you *always* campaign (see Trump & Farage)

That’s ultimately on Labour as well I’m afraid, they could have a better media game, could regulate the media. They have a *massive* majority.

But they don’t even try, instead they chase Farage (“I like flags too!” That’s not the media, that came out for Starmer’s mouth)

Sure the media has a part to play, as does Labour comms, but fundamentally technocratic tinkering was never going to cut it. The paradigm itself is broken.

All I see in my area are decaying public services & more flags going up on lampposts 🤷🏻‍♀️

Even if it’s about winning over Trump or whatever that won’t matter either given how capricious he is.
