The American Revolution (Ken Burns et al.) is so, so good. Am working my way through it. It is revealing, fascinating, and NOT what you learned about our founding in grade school.
I find it fascinating that Ken Burns et al. chose this moment in our history to produce this series. Pretty clear why.

The American Revolution on PBS is amazing. It’s inspiring and enraging, messy, just like our fragile democracy. And, also, very timely as we face our current tyrant. It’s surprisingly emotional, and I’m struck by Thomas Paine’s words, and how they helped inspire the rebellion.
