Seeking contentment. Trying to get my words out. Bad at social stuff. I post about writing and whatever geeky hyperfixation I happen to be about today. I have perpetual brainWOT. #WoTSkies

I’m probably deleting this app. The world is too stupid right now.

I was at the library with the kids trying to decide which Ben Bova book to read and I was getting overwhelmed because there were so many to choose from and developed severe decision paralysis. Then my son let out the biggest fart you’ve ever heard. So I picked Uranus.

Are there any streaming subscriptions that are ethical?

The worst episode of Babylon 5 is still like a B tier Trek episode.

I was reading All The Birds In The Sky for Writing Excuses but it's starting to feel like an AI apology. Might have to DNF even though I'm enjoying the narrative overall.

I legit don’t even like Data anymore.
one unfortunate outcome of this recent AI scam bubble is that it has absolutely killed my interest in AI's in fiction. the Alien tv show doing the whole "is AI a human" routine we've been doing for the last hundred years but now I'm like no, it's a shitty chatbot that destroys fresh water

Trekkies are so out of touch. And people in the comments saying "it's possible because I did it" 🙄🙄🙄

Kids have so many options that are quite frankly better than TOS and more suited to their attention spans now. If you wanna hook them young you need to make shows designed for them.
Love the vibrant #StarTrekScouts discussion

People online: “I love your books, but you should talk less about politics.”
Me: I’d love to but *gestures at the news* these people need to stop being twats.

The movie trope of ‘villain gets taken down by a big exposé in a newspaper’ gets more depressing every time I see it

I feel like Holly by Stephen King would be more popular if people knew it was about octogenarian cannibals.

If you’re a dad is either one silent?
Imagine a world where the "n" is silent, not the "g", in bologna.

Only just now heard #ThePaper is already renewed for season 2! That makes my heart happy.

It’s not OK to shame people for things that are out of their control.

Unless they think mild salsa/chile is too spicy. Then it isn’t just OK but required.

I know it's a product of our capitalist hellscape but boy do I love the Bateman vs Batman commercials. I laugh every single time.

Am I already re-watching #ThePaper? Yes. Am I enjoying it even more than the first time? Also yes.

I love they aren't trying to recreate the Office. The characters feel like they are from the same world without them going "this guy is the Jim, this girl is the Pam, this guy is the Michael, etc."

I watched I think 3 or 4 seasons of Downton Abbey and thought it was good but fell off when I caught up to current (as often happens with me). Tempted to go back and finish so I can watch the finale movie.

Is it just me or are professional critics just outright afraid to praise something? Has it always been this way?

The Brontë bookcloaks are out in force today. Margot Robbie as Cathy is enough for me to already love it. It’s just like when I heard about Rosamund Pike and Moiraine. Sometimes you gotta just stop being a LB and enjoy the ride.
