i don't think disney's investment is really all that surprising. They've been racing for the slop bucket since they decided to start remaking all their cartoons with meat puppets.

COTW and EVO alike have shown me that there’s an awful lot of people in the FGC that don’t give a shit about how the sausage gets made, so long as they get to eat. Which would be understandable if that stance concerned a legitimate existential need, and not simply a form of entertainment.
