Yea exactly 😔 I hate it but there is not much you can do about it. I don't want me, my partner and child to be chucked out. My previous property manager was great, didn't care if the house actually looked lived in, was in and out in less than 5 mins. Its my new one that loves the power trip 😑

Legally the inspection is NOT about the house being spotlessly clean but about checking for damage. In practice though, depending on you property manager, they will be on a power-trip and pull you up on the stupidest things. Like not fully dusting ceilings, having an unmade bed etc.

Kainga ora is tightening the rules on housing and bringing inspections from once a year to once every 3 months for some tenants. I doubt this will be printed anywhere, this i was told directly from my tenancy manager

I have inspections every 3 months. It sucks. Such an invasion of privacy. Feels like your personal space is not your own. Really sucks when you have a property mananger who nitpicks everything ugh 😑

3/ Then again there is a possibility that consciousness is something that derives uniquely from biological brains and can not be replicated by other means. I.e. there might be something special about biological brains that helps produce consciouness. Some material reason that it cannot be replicated

1/ Don't get me wrong AI doesn't inherently contradict my worldview. I don't for instance believe in a mind-body distinction i.e. I don't believe consciousness derives from some "soul" distinct from the brain, but results from nuerological processes (biological/material) we don't fully understand.

Thank you. I wish more people talked about this. As a big sci-fi fan LLMs are not in any way shape or form artificial intelligence. We are a long way off from thinking machines, if such a thing is even possible. LLMs are not it, stop calling it AI
