I’m so sorry. I can understand. I was … abused at church. When I told, I was told I was lying. It’s so hurtful when the people who are supposed to protect you don’t.

I’m right there with you. I was brainwashed to believe that all adults were on my parents’ side. So I never went to teachers, etc because I didn’t think anyone could/would help.

In fact, it took years to come to accept that what I experienced was abuse (beaten with wooden boards, switches, etc to the point of bleeding!)

It was always MY fault. I was “rebellious”. “Sinning against God.” I “deserved” even worse than what I got. They beat you down so much psychologically.

I was extremely abused and neglected, but because of "Religious Exemptions for Child Abuse." I experienced being punched, spanked (even with a 2x4), not properly fed or clothed, not properly given shelter or gardenship,

I privately face-to-face told a judge that I was being badly abused by my father: He said, I don't see any bruises on you currently and I met your father, a very devout Christian man, just trying to raise his kids as he thinks is right.
