“God’s Son” across the belly
I prove you lost already
There is no pain
You are receding
A distant ship's smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying

One of the things that shapes the difference in strategy between the right and the left is there is no scarcity on the right. There is so much money in so few hands they’ll throw it and anybody and everybody who sniffs their jock. The left is crabs in a barrel
I’ve spent a lot of the last three years investigating the rise of anti-trans politics. Often, it came back to the controversy over trans women athletes.

So I teamed up with @pablo.show to look into the leading figure on the issue: Riley Gaines.

How right-wing superstar Riley Gaines built an anti-trans empire
The swimmer tied a trans woman for fifth. The MAGA industrial complex took care of the rest.

outside of individual donations to gofundmes and such, one helpful destination for your money right now is this bond fund. everyone being released from broadview needs to pay $1500 bond, which is obviously insane. it's going to cost like $925k to successfully spring 615 people linktr.ee/mw_bondfund

Last week, 65,000+ residents voted to elect a democratic socialist mayor. All Council races that had a DSA-endorsed candidate won by overwhelming margin. These results send a clear message: people want leaders who will fight for working-class communities, not corporate interests.

This—agents driving around in circles and provoking the community—has gone on for hours at this point with no discernible goal other than to inflict terror.

They also just fired pepper balls at someone.

Yeah the “legal case” for a third term is nonexistent. It’s absurd to interpret the amendment to mean that someone can’t be “elected” more than twice but can *be* president more than twice. OTOH it shows the right knows Trump has hollowed out their political apparatus and wired it directly into him
that legal case? the barrel of a gun.
There is a legal case for a third term—but it is strewn with obstacles

The left’s personnel settling into nonprofits and academia with the collapse of mass organizations in the 70s, and the political logic of nonprofits, and academics’ instinct towards novelty, have just wrecked working peoples’ movements. It boils down to an instinct that universal demands are suspect
From my latest: no, it is not suspicious to talk about the working class.

if i've learned one thing from doing union stuff while also doing other forms of organizing, it's that you're better off with people you disagree with who are nevertheless trying to do the same thing as you than with people you agree with who aren't trying to do anything

To the contrary, it “explicitly requires” using every means available, including the tools this administration has created that were assumed to be unconstitutional, to break the institutions they rely on, crush their organizations, and exclude them permanently from any social safety.
Saving America from Trump and preserving our democracy explicitly requires that people who voted for Trump change their mind. Which in turn requires that those who didn’t vote for Trump show grace and empathy to those whose change of heart came from being hurt by the guy they voted for…

Very few schools are selective, much less highly selective. What guys like Andreesen are playing on is the sense of exclusion that comes from cost, and the conflation of admissions with assistance. Making public college free would collapse any association w exclusion for like 99% of people
