Sky Puppies all night, Helmeted Friarbirds all day. Might have to move into town doe some peace and quiet.

Yep, and sounds like at least 1 has come back.

Getting some here.

Had some sky puppies hanging out in the Callistemon outside my window earlier. Noisy buggers.

No skills, just a love of sparks, hot metal & hitting things (I'm also a reformed telecom's tech)

And just found out 2 of the councils we work with won big at the Keep Australia Beautiful Awards (between them just under 1/3 of the state's awards), the one I have dramas with got not a brass razoo.

Oh yes, & I can be very polite & professional. Intimidation & embarrassment tactics don't work on me, facts, logic & reasoning are my friends.

Nothing interesting, kept awake by flying foxes outside my window last night getting into the flowering Callistemon, only saw the bubba chooklets this morning, mowed most of the yard, 2 gym sessions & dealing with work paperwork for tomorrow. Boring stuff.

My favourite part of emails is the "reply all" button.

I have grinders, welders, cutters, drills, forges, anvils, big press, if I don't have the tool there's a fair chance I can make it.

I have a selection of hammers and random tools I've used only once or twice and the ability to make things up as I go along!

Big fan of Youtube vid's for vehicle repairs, best source of info for repairing my old Mazda Bravo were Indonesian YT vids, lots of pointing and lots of demonstration.

I didn't get eaten by a Velociraptor.

I remember what happened last time they tried that, it's the thing that got us into the mess we're in today, both politically and environmentally.

Going anywhere else I'd think this was a joke, but I was on my way to Merriwa....

(I do like the town, including it's various oddities
Roadside Velociraptor warning sign. Some people might claim it's a vandalised kangaroo warning sign but locals know better.

If it's not paid for by the government or corporate sponsors then surely you don't expect the members to pay?

I read the first post and immediately thought "whale shit". I was right.

The gambling industry is predatory and insidious.

I quit the Parliamentary Sports Club a few weeks ago, when I discovered it had registered as a lobbyist group and was sponsored by the gambling peak body.

The industry will do anything to wield influence on pollies, and hates being called out.

My beauty sleep was ruined long ago, it's now more or less my "not being a grumpy bugger sleep" (though firey humour at 4am is a rich mix of cynicism, grumpiness & sheer "whiskey tango foxtrot" are we doing here at this hour of the morning? Generally "parental guidance recommended" stuff).

Visited NZ 12 years ago, noted the countryside grazed to the ground, very green due to regular rain but very hard grazing, realised the "clean green" image was aspirational. Surprised to see how bad it is re rivers and lakes.

The other good news is the council tip fire I was called to at 3am only took 4 hours to put out, I was worried I'd be there all day (I can still smell the occasional "rubbish tip" smell)
