We believe that LGBTQ+ people are already holy. That our lives and experiences reflect the divine in unique and much-needed ways. That our faith makes us queerer and our queerness makes us more faithful. Let's practice together.

(Usually Brian posting)
"The Bible says gay sex is OK but doesn't allow for non-monogamy" is a WILD and extremely unserious position to take.

Two things can be true:

- I want to believe no one is irredeemable
- James Dobson made the world a worse place and we are better off without him

May those of us still here work to undo all the harm he wrought upon us.

Pretty sure that "‘When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born," means don't them in prison/concentration camps.

July 1995. Bibi, then leader of the opposition, rallies a mock funeral procession as anti-peace, anti-Oslo Peace Process scream, "death to Rabin!" The life-size black coffin with PM Rabin’s name painted in white is visible, the noose is harder to see from here. Rabin was murdered in November.

Let history remember that this loathsome monster was inciting Rabin’s murder back in the day for trying to make peace.

Nobody can say they didn’t know, didn’t see, couldn’t have imagined.

This was as inevitable as all the steps that preceded it when he’s left unchecked.

No conscience.

Brian here. Just read an email @shannontlkearns sent where he wrote

"I am not afraid of God. I don’t mean that in a flippant way, nor in a “God can’t touch me” kind of way. I mean it in the deepest place of knowing that God is loving "

and it pierced me right down to my bones.

Tonight, we had a Pride Prayer Service at CTS and I preached a sermon inspired by an episode of @queertheology.bsky.social where Father Shay preached about the Doubting Thomas story. That sermon will be my Substack article on Monday. I'm hoping to have the recorded version and my written version,

because the Lord has anointed me.
He has sent me
to bring good news to the poor,
to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim release for captives,
and liberation for prisoners,”

Earlier today ICE agents hit someone with a car and tear gassed a neighborhood, sparking several fires and disrupting businesses.

Immigrants, by contrast, did not.
ICE is a much greater threat to this country than illegal immigrants. The current administration ia by far the greatest threat this country faces. The problem is not st our borders. It is in the White House.

Special clothes & objects are part of many religious traditions. Catholics carry rosaries, monks wear robes, nuns wear habits, Mormons wear temple garments, Jews wear tzitzit, and gays... well lots of gay guys wear jockstraps.

2 years ago I decided to start wearing one daily as a spiritual practice

One of the strange and beautiful parts about being an LGBTQ+ person of faith is the often complicated relationships we have with the faith communities that formed us.

Even when there was harm done, there was often also much beauty there too.
