I have a book called "Notes From a Queer Cripple" coming out in less than a month on April 21, 2025. It is available all the places you get books in e-book and paperback format. It is an urgent call to see queer disabled people, and to see queer non-disabled people must do better. Pre-order now!
everybody wants to “deepen their relationships” unless the relationship is with a disabled person who expresses an access need to participate.
disabled people want the same things you do; security, relationships, safety. we’re not so different than you... you just made it seem that way because you were scared of the power in our vulnerability.
disabled people have to demand access, inclusion and friendship and connection, and this can be, and definitely is exhausting. I don't want to demand anything. I want it to be made available to me because I deserve it. Demanding is so tiring.
The silencing of marginalized voices, particularly in this case, disabled, queer and sex positive voices, sends a clear and queer message to those groups, that they are not welcome. Gross.
Update: I spoke to someone through Instagram support, and they still wouldn't reinstate me claiming that I went against their policy somehow. But, they said that I could start a new facebook account, and that "not all accounts linked to a suspended acct are affected. So maybe Instagram is okay?
Do you know where he found this contact?
My Facebook was shut down for exploitation with no explanation or support. I appealed, but less than 30 mins later my appeal was denied. I'm worried that Meta will shut down my Instagram of 26.7K followers. I think they are silencing disabled creators. Can anyone help? xo ag
One of the hardest parts of being disabled, I think, is knowing that you deserve the support to thrive and be successful, but knowing deep in your bones that you probably won’t get it.
It's totally okay if you're disabled and you struggle to find disabled joy. That is a valid feeling that is okay to access. We always talk about overcoming our disabilities or being disability warriors, sure, but there is so little discussion about just sitting with however disability feels today.
if you are a disabled creator, it is okay to take big, long breaks from creating/producing. it’s okay to stop the hustle and break the grind.

LGBTQ+ comedians Rosie Jones and Lee Peart were assaulted on a train in what they described as an 'ableist and homophobic' attack.

It can be both true that we should've protested the Jimmy Kimmel incident and Black women have not been afforded the same support.

Black women often get the shaft, and we should all be pointing that out. We should be fighting for Joy Reid, Melissa Harris Perry, Tiffany, etc.
are those arms wheelchair access? lol
