UK: "Brits told to 'wear a mask' as flu spreads across country"

Flu positive rate rose to 11.6% weekending Nov 25 (from 10.7%). Health chiefs said the highest positivity was in children aged 5–14.

“We haven’t seen a virus like this for a while… these dynamics are unusual,” said Prof Nicola Lewis.

Yes anxiety, bullies, and a general disinterest in school plays a role, but not as much of a role as……

This happens every time illnesses like Covid are spiking. Why is someone trying to derail accurate Covid and safety info?

1. I read a study that hinted at this over a year ago. Although the overall individual risk seems to be small, there will be impacts at the population level. The effects of pathogens are an inconvenient truth for MAHA.

A government that chose not to look at scientific evidence or be concerned that a novel virus that was killing people might also harm children.
Gavin Williamson assessment on “obstacles” to kids returning to schools in January 2021 - I didn’t think it was justified - Covid wasn’t going to have an impact on children’s health - we had good understanding on which were vulnerable to covid. #LongCovidKids #CovidInquiry

I wonder if @niassembly.bsky.social or the Health Department are monitoring staff sick leave/early retirement/retention figures.

Perhaps FFP2 respirators should be mandated for staff to protect them and their patients.

Health and safety at work issue?
