Hard to see what choice he has.
Very few examples of "This could have been a headline from The Onion!" actually feel like they could have been from the Onion, but I do think this one qualifies.
Enshittification.

That's what I want to do, buy 'em. Seven years to amortize doesn't seem bad at all.
Very good. Probably not the company to turn to for my slanted roof in Connecticut.
What company did you use? I'm solar-curious, but the door-to-door salesmen dropping by all seem so shady.

As America's most pro-business leader in a generation, I will choose one company each week and accuse them of witchcraft
We've all seen things like this a bunch of times now but it never fails to crack me up.
Yeah man we should really fight back by staying on X
It would have been more impressive if ALL the blurb names rhymed.

But, you know, some Democrats still say "Latinx," so who can really say who's worse.
Justice Sotomayor, not mincing words, also says that today's decision will lead to the "creation of [] a second-class citizenship status" for Latinos, who now will have the burden to "carry enough documentation to prove that they deserve to walk freely."

Looks like you guys had an interesting night.

I need to figure out how to do this so that not every post is HERE IS A PICTURE OF MY CHIN!
This is EXACTLY what I thought I read about this new executive order.
Genuinely think the whole point of the flag burning ban now IS that no one is doing it and they want to entice people to in protest because it plays so well for them
Also, like, when's the last time you remember anyone doing it? We have real fake problems to worry about. Like China gaming the tiktok algorithm or whatever.

Ooh, I'll be curious to hear how this goes.
A new business that opened near me is two kinds of trouble.
As someone who uses quotes as puzzle fodder, I really preferred it when the Internet used to be semi-quasi-sorta-accurate.
I wrote about how AI chatbots are pumping out fake quotes, attributed to real people, at scale, and polluting our public disourse with potemkin pontification and made-up appeals to authority. And the AIs are not just misquoting famous people—it happened to me and it could happen to you. Gift link:

The chatbots are lying about me.
