I have a bipartisan bill that would make these protections ironclad. It passed the House unanimously (twice) and it was never taken up in the Senate. Now Trump is laying the groundwork to lock up reporters who don't rat out their sources who expose crimes by his administration.
BREAKING: A.G. Bondi reverses Garland policy against subpoenaing journalists.

Stating that leaks "undermine President Trump’s policies," Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that "the news media ‘must answer subpoenas’ when authorized."

Spent the last week holding town halls in deeply rural and red parts of Oregon. The message is clear: people are scared and angry, not knowing if their way of life will be next on Trump’s chopping block. Trump is losing support and trust across the country.

Later today the Senate will vote on my bipartisan legislation to end Trump’s tariffs. This has a real chance of passing. I encourage everyone to make your voices heard with your Senators if you feel strongly about this issue. I’ll be working to get it across the finish line. More soon.

Five former National Weather Service directors have taken the unusual step of signing onto an open letter warning that cuts to the organization by the Trump administration may soon endanger lives.

BREAKING: We're suing to block a new Utah law that allows courts to strip people with disabilities of their civil rights without due process.

This law would allow a guardian to isolate the disabled person from their loved ones. Guardianships should be made less restrictive, not more.

China says it will only talk to the US if Trump cancels all unilateral tariffs, the FT reports.

Xi’s humiliation of Trump continues apace. It’s a shame Trump doesn’t hold the cards.

"Attorney General shall initiate appropriate action to repeal or amend the implementing regulations for Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 for all agencies"

What's Title VI?

"prohibits discrimination against or otherwise excluding individuals on the basis of race, color, or national origin"

Beside how awful this is, it also illustrates the reach & limits of executive orders. It does mean DOJ won't do cases based on this (legit) theory of discrimination. But the theory is still legit & others can use it. The EO doesn't *change* the law...just Admin's approach to enforcing it.

4/ This honestly is perhaps the most insane thing we’ve heard since Jan 20. Musk, Thiel and Luckey want the US to pay for the creation of this network of surveillance and attack lasers and then the Pentagon will become a subscriber to the service. So the US won’t own our own missile defense.

The upward redistribution of wealth over the past 50 years has shifted $80 trillion from the bottom 90% of Americans to the top 1%.

That’s $80 trillion that would have gone into the paychecks of the working class.

The greatest trick of all is trickle-down economics.

young men are isolated, underperforming in school and refusing to go to college or vocational school because of medicaid?
Mike Johnson on Medicaid: "What we've talked about is returning work requirements ... you return the dignity of work to young men who need to be out working instead of playing video games all day. We have a lot of fraud, waste, and abuse in Medicaid."

No matter how many times Republicans say otherwise, there is *no way* they can pay for their tax cuts for the rich without gutting healthcare and food assistance for the poor — along with other programs that millions of people rely on.

Don't believe their lies for a second.
Now it's 1.5 TRILLION in savings they are looking for instead of the original billions. Pretty much kill off all food stamps /EBT Turn Medicaid to a block grant, cut more. Like where else? Section 8?
Mike Johnson: "We're gonna protect the essential programs for everyone who is eligible to receive those ... we'll be looking for $1.5 trillion in savings."

Trump's entire ethos is that he's above the law

While John Roberts has spent his entire career cherishing established norms and following the rules, Trump has spent HIS career exploiting them

Unless Roberts learns to adapt-which is very unlikely

Trump will continue to steamroll the Supreme Court
New in PN: John Roberts will save the judiciary if he has to burn it down

"As we saw this week, whenever there's a danger that the Trump administration might face real consequences for defying a court order, Roberts and company leap on the grenade to make sure it never happens."
John Roberts will save the judiciary if he has to burn it down
Appeasement never works. The chief justice is trying it anyway.

Trump wants a $1 trillion military budget, but we can't get $20 billion to end homelessness.
End of the article it says this clearly
To be clear, Speaker Johnson canceled the vote because too many Republicans wanted more cuts that screw over the working class to fund their additional tax cuts for corporations and billionaires.
