The proliferation of auto-playing previews on streaming services and websites must be an environmental catastrophe
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?
We need a standard disclaimer: “Sir Paul McCartney, who is alive and well, has not been Milkshake Ducked in the past 72 hours, and is currently neither Nottingham Forest manager nor Prime Minister of France,…”
Bit of a panic when this was the first post on my feed when I opened the app. Is Macca now in the Tom Baker "needs a disclaimer if could be interpreted as a death notice" category?
In a sane world this would be Christmas Number 1 this year

I’ve seen just one counter-protester at No Kings San Diego. He’s got a Trump 2024 flag and this guy has been following him around for probably an hour playing Benny Hill and circus music.
Why is this image so adorable
What if he did and accidentally won the sumo in the process
These are good browns! Well browned, A++
Same! I especially enjoyed BROWN
Sadly not even close. Chansiri at Sheff Wed, Owen Oyston at Blackpool, even the Glazers at Man U… that’s not to praise Marinakis, who is an idiot, just to say the bar is *low*

Huge mix-up. Turns out it was just south of Basingstoke all along
I’m second in my Duolingo league this week but about 15000 points behind someone called Kemi who must spend every waking minute on it.

Couldn’t be… could it?

Hindsight is 20-20, but I really think they should have taken Maxwell's silver hammer away before the trial.
Hinged opinion: Reading a collection of Poe’s short stories at the moment. The famous ones are the best ones. Opinion ends

This works well for "revisions required" following a PhD viva as well. The omerta around discussing it means very few realise how common it is, how it's not the end of the world, and how it's not going to haunt you for the rest of your life (even if it does mean a few more months of graft).

This, from @catherinedevries.bsky.social, is really useful advice for young (and, tbh, old!) academics. Worth passing on if you know any, maybe? catherineeunicedevries.substack.com/p/fail-bette...

Post you from a different era
