often I think "what if there was a game with Monster Hunter combat but with Dark Souls level design" and realized today that's just Dragon's Dogma.

Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

When the typo in AI is fixed, you can see this behavior once again work properly. They will run towards whichever corner is furthest from the player (at the time of the check).
...however, because they are told to run towards the corner for EXACTLY 5 seconds they usually stop halfway anyway. oops.
