It has to be about more than just winning elections. If we aren’t actually helping people, building community, and changing people’s lives for the better does it even matter if we win more elections?

Nietzche was wrong about the enlightenment & scientific progress being what kills god. God’s death clearly comes at the hands of those co-opting an idea of “absolute omnipotent power” to support/justify their actions/desires and the inability of that thing which is beyond to stand up for itself. 1/2

So they can flip out when people don’t call it Gulf of America, even though it has been called Gulf of Mexico since the beginning, but if you legally changed your name to align with with your preferred identity they freak out cause it’s not what was on your birth certificate?

Internal/external echolalia is annoying…haven’t been able to stop humming/whistling/thinking about the melody to Apple - CharlieXCX since waking today. if I don’t let it play through my mind it feels like daggers across my brain.

@thedailyshow.com we’re like months away from everyone wearing giant pouches…I’m pretty sure Rob Liefield is writing our reality now!
I dunno, I feel like “offering a buy out to the entire CIA” is something that would have gotten flagged as unrealistic by editorial when someone was writing a “Lex Luthor/Norman Osborne/Wilson Fisk become president” story. @marvelcomicshqs.bsky.social @dccomicsreal.bsky.social @bleedingcool.com

The President is asking rhetorical questions about what federal government aircraft was doing, as if there's someone else who is supposed to have the answer. This is his responsibility. If he doesn't even know the answers, it's because he and his unqualified appointees are incompetent.
“Commander in Chief” jumps to throw military crew under the bus before any details are known. Coward.
We no longer have a leader in the White House but a conman who’s #1 goal is always to dodge responsibility.
Next time a R or D says “respect the office” remind them the President himself doesn’t.

In a functioning democracy, a president who
-tries to seize Congress's constitutional spending powers
-attempts to rewrite the Constitution unilaterally
-pardons violent insurrectionists who attacked the government
-fires the Inspectors General and DOJ prosecutors
would face immediate impeachment

This, but especially for R’s in purple districts. We need to make them understand this is not going to go well for them.
I used to work for an elected official as the person who answered their emails. I can tell you from personal experience, if even twenty or thirty people all call an official in a day, they start panicking. This stuff does help.
I know you hate this advice. I know you hear it all the time, but for gods sake you need to be calling your congressperson. Now. Today.
If you have a GOP representative, you need to call and ask if they approve of stripping congress of its constitutional authority. If they like being powerless.

The move, which could dramatically reduce the size of the federal work force, appeared to stretch the limits of President Trump’s authority.

He is flooding the zone. He knows that media will cover everything he does. Getting people upset. Which helps give him more coverage of the upset people. All just talking about him.
Dems need to be strategic.

Ugh. We need to be locked in solidarity now more than ever. After the day I’ve had it’s hard to defend decisions like this. Give them no quarter.
Despite 22 Democratic senators flipping to a "NO" vote today on Trump's climate change-denying Sean Duffy today, BOTH of California's senators Schiff and Padilla voted YES.
I just left messages for my senators telling them to grow a fucking backbone.
Schiff: (202) 224-3841
Padilla: (202) 224-3553

Not a crime when he controls house and senate, and Supreme Court. worst thing would be for this to make it to the Supreme Court and they essentially twist our entire const framework to make it alright.
Unless/until we mobilize and take house/senate back in 26’ griping is the height of doing.

Yeah dipshit, it’s a crime. He’s openly doing a crime. AGAIN. Maybe go tell the government that you have no control over.
Donald Trump’s administration is jeopardizing billions upon billions of community grants and financial support that help millions of people across the country.
