By "some" they mean ICE.

This is probably a good thing.

They wouldn’t want to attract the kind of people who would zip-tie and terrorize naked children for free.

I'm sorry to hear that. My condolences. =(
Yeah, the Canadian chain is a totally different beast. They used to be on the pricey side, but the other chains have caught up.

I'd put their mozza or teen burgers ahead of modern-day whoppers.

And it's a toss-up for me twixt McD's fries, and A&W's onion rings as a favourite side (or BK poutine).
His constituency office was in our neighbourhood. His acolytes would regularly set up protests across from it, opposing vaccines, walk-able neighbourhoods, and cashless purchases.

And they all wanted to have sex with Trudeau, based on their bumper stickers.

When he moved out, a pot shop moved in.
In fairness, I disagreed because at the time you were incorrectly touting BK fries as the best.

For me, it would be a 1990s BK Whopper, McDonald's fries, and an A&W root beer shake (which, sadly, they no longer make). A Frosty, or root beer float would be close following contenders.
TLDR: He sued the governing party because one of their members called him a racist.

The judge looked at the evidence, and what triggered the accusations, and ruled, "Naw, man. Case dismissed. You're a racist."

So, thanks to his efforts, he's now officially, legally a racist.

They are future-proofing a lot of their changes by gutting federal agencies, and replacing key positions with blind loyalists.

Also, they have shown that the constitution and federal laws are only as effective as the willingness to enforce them.

Bush was right. It's just a piece of paper.
Even if we survive this without getting Ukrained, and you manage to overturn this regime in upcoming elections, I think the friendship is done. For a couple of generations, at least.

Those of us still living will remember that you're always just another election away from theocratic fascism.
The US is treating Russia as more of a friend and ally than Canada.

The shared border with y'all used to be regarded as a (mostly positive) mixed blessing. Now, a significant number of us would quite happily move our entire land mass to Europe if we could.
B.C.’s softwood lumber U.S. tariffs now higher than Russia’s: ‘Let that sink in’ | Globalnews.ca
'This additional tariff means that Canadian wood has a higher tariff rate going to the United States than Russia does. I want to let that sink in,' Premier David Eby says.

Me: I'd like a large, oat milk, decaf mocha latte pleae. <pause> Oh. I've removed all of the fun, haven't I?

Barista:<cheerily> It still has chocolate!
The Anglican church near us houses an old graveyard - the kind where you spot the same names as local streets and neighbourhoods on the stones.

We didn't recognize the name on one marker, but the epitaph simply read, "He was kind."

I daresay, I wish I could be remembered that way when I'm gone.
