UK submarine construction troubles and delays don’t bode well for Australia’s #AUKUS submarine plans. At least the Brits are more honest about their troubles than Albo, Richard Marles and our Defence Department are about things here. #auspol

To anyone new to our world, you may be interested in reading the book on Icelandic cricket by Kit Harris. Called From Lord's to the Fjords, it was published in November 2023 and provides an account of how we invented cricket back in 911 CE and some of our more modern antics.

Last night @davidpocock.bsky.social and I read onto the Hansard an interview by the President of Nauru that the Albanese Government has been desperately trying to keep secret.

It shows Nauru plans to send refugees to places they fled. No wonder the secrecy.

If the dismissal happened now, I seriously doubt the ABC would have the wit or the guts to send Norman Gunston to cover it. Sad.

Qatar collects 46 DOLLARS per $100 of exported gas

And Norway collects 56 DOLLARS per $100 of exported oil

This is not just a piss take ... it's the out and out theft of our natural resources.

The Albanese govt’s first term was the second most secretive on record.

Rather than changing their ways, they’re doubling down and tightening our FOI system to make it even harder to get information. Not a single expert or member of parliament outside of the Labor party has backed their new bill.

As a kid in the late 1970s I wrote to Mr Martin asking"how do you become a journalist". His answer was a 6 page typed letter on 60 minutes letterhead.
