Thank you to BGS Montreal, @videogameworkers.bsky.social, and #GWU for standing with us at #Ubisoft Montreal.

Reconnecting with colleagues and sharing our story reminded us why this matters.

We’ll keep going until fair treatment is secured.

Over 1,000 Ubisoft workers around the world have walked off the job.

In response to a return-to-office mandate, layoffs, and the cancellation of several games, workers launched a three-day strike.

The workers walked out in response to five French unions issuing the strike call.

Went to Ubisoft today to hand out flyers and pamphlets. Ubi folks were friendly, receptive and many stopped to talk to us. Almost like they’ve been frustrated by recent developments…

It's easy to be pessimistic if you look around at everything going on.

But if you channel those feelings into collective action that produces observable outcomes, whether it be through mutual aid, workplace unions, or local politics, you will be forever optimistic about what can be done.

100%.

ZeniMax QA's union won some gains that were extended to us outside of that department even before they reached their final contract.

Later, our own path to unionization was made on a trail they blazed.
QA continues to lead the way on unionization and collective action within the games industry. For developer unions, the wins and solidarity from QA unions has been instrumental to success and motivation.

They are the unsung heroes in so many ways and deserve more respect for their critical work.
