Maybe it's time I talk about my follow-back policy. I want to actually read what people I follow have to say, I follow people who post stuff that interests me. And that's a wide variety. Just be a real person, post real stuff, and I'm probably interested; repost the same stuff everyone does, sorry.
So we're done moving everything that was "easy", now it's the heavy stuff. Ugh. It would help if we were buff, and it were cool, but... Which led to us sleeping at the new house for the first time cuz we were just exhausted and couldn't bear unloading the trailer last night.

It was very quiet. Mmh!

It's not that I don't feel schadenfreude when the worst people (Trump & Musk) are at each other's throat, and like so many I expected the break-up, but it's that so many people are invested in them working together that they all will do their utmost to get them to stop this dicksize contest. >>>

Hate surveillance. But clearly many humans can't be trusted while behind the wheel of a weapon of mass destruction. And if we must therefore be watched, I'd rather a bot does it than cops, and that all speeders get ticketed rather than a few unlucky ones. Maybe it'll train people to speed less? 1/2
The system clocked me at 81 in a 65, resulting in a $160 ticket.

It was night and traffic was light. I was in the left lane going roughly the same speed as the cars ahead and behind. Doesn't excuse the speeding! The difference is one of expectations. A human cop can't ticket all of us. A robot can.

Did a quick native berry inventory on the property last weekend:

Salmonberry
Red Huckleberry
Saskatoonberry
Thimbleberry
Osoberry
Salal
Trailing Blackberry
Nootka Rose (hips)

That's outstanding. There might be others in hiding, I just walked down the main "trail". I can propagate those!

For the first time ever my boots' uppers have come apart before the soles. Hm. Weird. And so I needed new boots, but since COVID I'm buying everything online that I can, yet boots seemed always a try-on kinda thing. Still, I risked it, and here they are. And they fit! I ordered the same brand >>>

I see "Trump Lawsuit" trending, and am thinking that this doesn't narrow it down. Do I want to know? Not today, Satan.

Yesterday we had the inaugural use of the washer and dryer, as well as mowing the lawn (way too much lawn, which will be remediated after grading). Still doesn't feel like home, but at least I no longer have a lingering undercurrent of being an intruder.

My last 3 tests with ChatGPT have all resulted in misinformation -- it told me Mark Carney wasn't Prime Minister yet, that Chrystia Freeland was still Deputy Prime Minister, and that Bashar el-Assad was still in control in Syria. It is particularly untrustworthy when it comes to recent events. >>>

Robert Prevost wasn't on my radar as new pope, but since I am just a minimally informed lay person with no dog in this fight, that's not saying much. From everything I've read, this is NOT a step back from Francis, :relieved sigh:. Unusual, like w/ Francis, my instant first impression is positive.

I feel accomplished. Got my new phone set up before the deadline. Ok, so the deadline was extended, and I did not set it up before the original deadline -- close enough!

It was way more complicated than it should be. Mostly because my old phone was too old to talk to the new phone. >>>

Remember the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 dashboard? Well they are back and it's tracking measles outbreaks in the U.S. This is critical, especially with rampant disinformation and declining reporting standards. Data is our best weapon against disinformation. #PublicHealth #Measles #SciComm

I think I'll start posting in a new category: "moronic things about the new house".

Today's entry is the dryer vent which is a hole in the floor that leads into the utility room. Not outside, ever, no. It just emits the moist, warn air into the basement. Which has already a surfeit of moisture.

So Zuckerberg's "fewer than 3 friends" thing probably comes from the Pew study referenced in this article. And many people protest that but I don't see them defining "friend". Cause there are different kinds. I ran into that a lot when I first was in the US. 1/6

How many friends do Americans have? A survey crunched the numbers
