okay, so. i have bipolar disorder. we have a suicide rate of about 1/5. i've basically spent my entire teenage and adult life trying not to kill myself. so with that in mind, here are my tips on how to hang in there: 1) don't isolate. i know all the excuses. but don't do it

I gushed about it to every friend I have and recced in x, y, z servers and [...]' The writer or artist doesn't know this. They have no way of knowing that you found their work beautiful and lifechanging or even just a bright spot on a bad day or that you think about it every day or that you told all your friends about it, and those things are great but we have no way of knowing them! You may not be doing it intentionally, but you're excluding the writer or artist from the community feeling of fandom that you are carrying on (that is so great! fandom is a community! continue to talk and play!) even with their work. Please, please just drop a line even that is "oh gosh I absolutely love this work, I screamed to every one of my friends about it when I first read/saw it!" even if you don't have the spoons to share more of the specifics that made you flail at your friends or what you said in private. (Though if you do, we will love you forever for it.)

it's my 3 year top surgery anniversary this week, wanted to share some personal comics I made in recovery #comics
Black and white scribbly, textural comics. Text reads:Things I wrote down 1 week before top surgery: dreams. One week until my surgery and I’m having stress dreams. I’ve been saving and preparing for this surgery for 5 years. Before then, I’d been trying to force myself to live peaceably with the feeling of being on fire. Text over black ink of a figure scribbled out and cracks: I’d thought it a burden I had to carry around all my life, a secret screaming turmoil every time I catch my reflection. For years, I took the mirrors out of my rooms. But I don’t want to be afraid to see myself. I don’t think I can bear the burden any longer. A drawing completely washed with alarming red, where a person in a hospital bed is reaching for their chest, which is scribbled out in black. Text reads: In the stress dreams, I’m coming around after surgery, and there was a mistake. I feel my chest, and it’s still the same. Still a foreign part of my body I want to claw off. I wake up and try to shake the horror and despair off with the sleep. One more week.
