We REALLY need to get together and figure out how to deal with the collective trauma COVID *continues to inflict* on our society. Brain damage aside (bc that’s what this virus causes), it’s as though “society” is now just a living trauma response.
Can't remember if it was this bad before COVID but I'm seeing an alarming spreading of what I'll call Airport Behavior to other public places. Obliviousness to other people's existence, ineptitude at navigating the environment. "Is this your first time at the grocery store" type stuff

A Prayer for Owen Meany was the book that got me hooked. A gift from a boyfriend. Just downloaded it on audible. And Until I Find You, because I never read it, even though it’s 20 years old (my autistic binge was before it was published and I had already moved on by then). Man, I’m old.
In my 20s I stumbled upon one Irving novel or another and was hooked. I then read the whole collection of his works. He’s a very accessible author. I am also very autistic.
Currently reading my fifth John Irving novel.
Years ago I picked up Until I Find You on a whim and I’ve been hooked on his writing ever since.

A buddy and I were talking about how good Matthew Lillard is just last week, oddly enough. So many of his roles must have been next to nothing on the page, but he brings so much energy and depth to it. When he pauses and gets emotional I feel it every time. My eye just loves him on film.

This is the correct opinion about mayo. As a hwhite person, despite the hate, maybe take another look (eggs are also pretty hated yet delicious and that’s 2/3 of the recipe with some oil, so…)
