A cool Bluesky feature: If you take a screenshot of text with your phone and want to add alt-text, you can copy the text right there in the ALT window. It’s OCR’d for you.

It doesn’t work on web, but works great on the iPhone. No need to go back to the article you’re reading to copy from there.

Adding alt-text to a screenshot of text has never been easier.

And all of that alt-text is searchable on Bluesky, meaning that a lot more people will find your post.

If you post a screenshot without alt-text, imagine you're just posting a black box for a bunch of people who want to see inside.

Was waiting to see how Olivia Reingold (who Oliver's piece destroyed almost as much as Bari Weiss) would respond, and you can see the tweet below which also shows she either did not watch his piece, or just didn't understand it, since he actually addresses this point directly.

I know other agencies are worse off, but ours at least is covering Head Start as well as the federal portion of child care financial assistance. (Note: this is my personal loose summary as someone who doesn’t focus on policy, not an official line from my employer)
