Every gym everywhere. They're so good at talking their way out of my money with the endless upselling.
Further subtlety in the news of the day. It's only been eight years since this movie was made and we're already living up to some of its predictions.
First of all, damn... that's some serious Trek representation. (That's Manu Intiraymi on the left.) Second, Tim Russ' Vulcan eyebrow is just a tiny fraction of him being an even bigger dick than his brother. This is not a subtle movie.

My neighbor who grew up in the commuter suburbs of NJ was talking about how she hates how 9/11 memorialization because her memories of the aftermath was not grotesque displays of jingoistic patriotism but the care of people whose first question was, “did you know someone?” My memory was different 1/
in case anyone hasn't watched the full thing, do it. it's a damn treat.

I don't think I realized it until now, but I'd been waiting my whole life to hear a politician sound like they want the people to govern with them

This makes my heart sing, and I hope the only person I've ever dated who has probably voted Republican still lives there to see it.
BIG result, folks:

Bucks County, Pennsylvania, was ground zero for the conservative takeover of school boards & anti-LGBTQ policies in 2021, on the Central Bucks and Pennridge boards.

Dems flipped both boards back in 2023.

Tonight, Dems have ousted *all* Republicans from both school boards.
Captain Cheekbones here is going a little overboard with the constipated intensity. I get that your brother is missing, sir, but you're one twitch away from Batman shouting about hockey pads.
Yeah, this was made all of a year after The Expanse started airing and it doesn't come close to matching that show for the intricate dance of many things moving around one another in space, but the exterior bits still look pretty alright considering the (non-existent) budget.
It would be really funny if somebody had just introduced him to Babylon 5.
To be fair, thousands of people in Iraq and Afghanistan got an entire clipful of democracy thanks to Cheney & Co.
"We weren't mobilizing tonight, not really; we were saving some of our mobilization... juice, keeping it in the tank for the big show later on. You'll see." *sniffle*

Bad week to be a famous sex pest named Andrew
There's a real whiff of "be our voice or be our target" to this US election news and I hope the right people here in Canada are appropriately jolted out of any recent dickish leanings by what they're seeing.
I love that .24% still voted for a guy who had dropped out.

Abandoning our climate initiatives because of the US *is* putting the US ahead of our sovereignty and economy.
Mad?

Good. Now channel it where it needs to be... the belligerent country south of us is largely responsible for today's budget.

I'm all for climate initiatives, but NOT ahead of our sovereignty or economy being crushed by a bunch of churls.
If there's a mailing list for those, sign me up! One of my favourite podcasts ever did an air disasters episode right after I started listening, quickly cementing it as essential listening every week. (I miss you, Caustic Soda!)

Looking forward to learning all about how the right should move left to win elections tomorrow. They should maybe dye their hair pink, learn to love pronouns.

Tangible? Frangible? You could turn them into plural nouns if need be.
As flavours of autism go, that's definitely one that could make for a podcast I'd listen to.
I can just imagine the narration of the video when they get to the bottom row: "Just like with fashion, some TikTok personality has been trying to bring something from twenty years ago back into the public consciousness... in this case, the idea of donkey-punching. Dame da yo!"
And wow, what a difference a decade makes. This opening looks and sounds so much better than Of Gods and Men or anything like that, though this kerning is making my eyes bleed.
Some of them were alright — I just watched Inalienable for the first time in about fifteen years this afternoon and in some ways, it's more timely now than it was in 2007 — and some of them were Star Trek: Renegades, but tonight, I'm watching 5th Passenger (www.imdb.com/title/tt3165...).

Remember that fun time about twenty years ago when Enterprise had gone off the air and a bunch of Star Trek actors started getting together to make some low-budget movies and hang out with their friends without having to sign autographs for hours at a convention?
