I'm reading this at the moment, and it's the coziest of cozy crime with a magical twist. Rather enjoyable! #KidLit #KidLitUK

Chatting with @pgbellwriter.bsky.social on another platform about how as kids we had no concept of authors actually existing! One of the benefits of author school visits is that kids can see that authors are real people (like them!), plus see the labour and skill that goes into making books.

You've been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who's coming to save you?

I'm going to die.

95% of authors are not making a living through book publishing. The public needs to understand this.

Happy #DoctorWho day to all who celebrate. Sylvester McCoy and Sophie Aldred were my TARDIS team growing up; I loved the tutor/student dynamic. But who were *your* favourite Doctor and companion(s)?

This whole thread is great. I like to think that writers have a kind of antenna that’s tuned in to the world in general, picking up frequencies other people miss. It’s partly something you just *have*, but it’s also something you can develop. And that’s where ideas come from.
I am not aware of a single author who has a shortage of book ideas. Words, yes. Ways to make the ideas become a book, yes. But I've never met an author who doesn't have ideas just raining down all the damn time.

This reminded me that I really enjoyed this book. Amy Lloyd conjures a great sense of mounting dread and paranoia. Well worth picking up.

I haven't "liked" this post, because the story it relates is absolutely shocking. But I had no idea such things were happening, and it's clear that they need to change, fast.
