Robinson, Musk and Badenoch are all part of an industry of grievance, a machine designed to spread hate which now operates across the British right – from respectable print outlets to wild-eyed online fascists

Don't be fooled, Tommy Robinson and Elon Musk are playing you
The message the hate engine transmits is simple: asylum seekers are not really people in need

Somebody at HMRC needs to be canned for this idiotic ‘fraud-detection’ idea. And I fear future use of AI in welfare cases might well produce this kind of story regularly (as they have in Nevada for example).
UK woman who booked Oslo flight but did not fly loses child benefit ‘because she emigrated’
Exclusive: HMRC told Lisa Morris-Almond there was no record of her return to UK, but she did not take the trip

Very good newsletter this week (every week) and why I do not have any news alerts set up.
"For reasons that have nothing to do with informing, educating and entertaining, but are likely instead about some team’s target stats, the BBC decided to actively tell millions of people they should be frightened by asylum seekers. Brilliant work."

Newsletter's out.
Clickbait Will Kill Us All
This week: a brief rant about news values; some stuff that probably shouldn’t be taught in schools; and a journey planner for your trip to early modern Europe.

In other news:

The total expenditure on PIP in the financial year ending April 2024 was £21.6 billion.

So it looks like they plan to tax people £10 billion a year for being disabled.

“More than 150,000 people have died across the country and about 12 million have fled their homes, creating one of the worst humanitarian crises.”

El-Fasher: Rebel group claims capture of key city in Sudan
The fall of el-Fasher would cement the RSF's control of the west and reinforces a de facto split in the nation.

It's the Fesshole/Vagina Museum crossover event you've all been waiting for. Tons of you tagged us into this across all of our socials, asking for a fact-check. The consensus of the reply guys is that it Didn't Happen. However, this is in fact very possible. Here's why...

Asylum seekers, housed in hotels in Manchester, are reaching out in their own words to address the concerns of the local community.

Please take a minute to read their letter, & share it with the people in your life who need to hear the truth about the people they are protesting.

Is the UK addicted to “full independent inquiries”? Does it really take a years-long process costing millions to say it was a mistake to release Hadush Kebatu on Friday? Wouldn’t a faster internal process into what went wrong allow the government to *fix* it faster?
A chilly Rising Sun #parkrun today with another 8 seconds off my best time of the year. I definitely find running in chilly weather better for the times.

I didn't expect austerity to be reversed over night. I absolutely did not expect baffling anti immigration policies, more ineptitude managing small boat arrivals and support for people whose response to migrants who look different to them is to wave a flag
I don't think ppl are 'disappointed with the pace of change'. I think they're disappointed in right wing policies and the absence of an economic plan, or at least economic principles. Labour are cooked. They just don't get it
Had a great evening seeing Matt perform. You should definitely go and see his tour if it is coming to a place near you. (Or even a bit further away, it is very good and worth travelling to)
Such a fun show at Newcastle Stand tonight - thanks to everyone there! I forgot to get a crowd photo from the stage but here’s some evidence from before the show! Next show: York on Sunday… then next week I’m at the Leicester Square Theatre! www.livenation.co.uk/matt-green-t...
