I honestly didn't think there was that level of vile racism in anyone under 65 years old. This is great. We have spawned a new generation of monsters. The fight begins again.

He isn't being prosecuted.
He isn't even losing his job.
They are DEFENDING him.

Don't tell me that there is a moral equivalence between the parties, or that republicans have typical morals.

Hey. Hi. Tom Homan is on camera taking a $50k bribe and no one knows where the money went. If this was any other administration, this would be non-stop on the news. Why are we normalizing this stuff?
pcollirigger.bsky.social
I would have thought that we would have a more basic preference for lawful behavior. What does this tell others in the Trump Administration? Go get yours!

What if, and hear me out, the Dems held out until there was obvious pain/disfunction and then the Dems fold for the good of the nation, but with a message that the healthcare pain that is coming is fully on republicans, and that they are ready to cut a deal on that when the republicans are wiling.

This logic makes ANY prosecution of an active politican a political prosecution.

Ellie Hoenig is calling Jack Smith's prosecution political because he rushed it to try to get a prosecution before Trump had protection as a candidate.

I guess I've answered my own question. I am in fact the only person worried about this.

Am I the only person who worries that in 2029 when Trumpism has locked down the government, the media, academia and courts, this whole "inflatable frog" phase will looks dumb as shit?
pcollirigger.bsky.social
Why is there any hesitation to do this?

How can the Repubs expect to avoid being held responsible
for this shutdown while they use it to exact partisan punishment?

Answer: They are not governing for the benefit of the whole nation. They are actively fighting against anyone who resists them.

We are NINE MONTHS into a 48 month term. It is a virtual certainty that this government will use every lever of government to punish dissent and reward compliance.

Trump has convinced Republicans that everyone is corrupt, and that enforcement is selective (and political).

The end of our legal system will plague us for decades.

Well, yeah. It is clearly a manufactured, partisan thing. He's the manufacturer.

Bezos doesn't care. It is his Twitter - a bullhorn to generate credible-looking stories on demand.

His goal is to dominate AI and related businesses, and he knows the Trump administration will reward those that help them; and he will use the WashPost to push Trump's narratives.

This all stops if/when the economy crashes, or the Epstein files get released.

RFK Jr wants everyone to question settled medical science because he's built a loyal following of lunatics. But you can rest assured that he and his family are vaccinated. Just like Trump and JD.

I ask myself, "How did MAGA treat Joe Biden when he passed the historic infrastructure bill? How did Republicans treat Obama when he steered us out of the deep recession of 2008?"

And then I vow to be a better American than they were.

There is no place in the United States with more lawyers per capita than Washington, DC, but it is also the one major city where you will not find any personal injury lawyer advertisements on local TV, radio or billboards.

He failed to anticipate the possibility that he would run again, and that he would win. Garland and Biden assumed Trump would just disappear after 1/6.

This morning, CNBC guests were mainlining this Kool-Aid. They seem confident that OpenAI revenues will just keep doubling and they will need and pay for all of these chips.

Airlines announce fleet purchases and everyone applies a reasonable discount based on the likelihood that it'll happen

I logged a solid hour watching CNBC this morning on a flight. At first I thought they were delusionally optimistic. But then it occurred to me that they live in a narrow band of time starting with the prior market close and extending to the present.

Yup. Some street flooding nearby but we were fine.
