Genuinely, I sometimes think about writing a novel and I beat myself up about whether or not I have the ability to write compelling, evocative writerly prose. And then I read this, and I’m like… seriously? This is acceptable to people? This dreck?!
out of curiosity i read the first chapter of the new book by that matthew gasda guy, who is apparently the toast of the dimes square literary scene. jesus christ, this is some of the worst prose i've encountered in a while
