I'm a city planner
New Barenaked Ladies song just dropped.
If I had a billion dollars I’d buy a late-model Honda Fit (my 2011 Fit is cool but a little creaky), I’d wear a different coat and sweater combo every day, and I’d buy the Washington Post
we both agreed there is really no reason to have a billion dollars, and that if we did have a billion dollars one of our first purchases would be a spacecraft

Why local developers aren't building apartments anymore. A case study.

Flux Apartments in Uptown (pictured here). 216 units

2019: Sold for $54M
Tuesday: Sold for $36.1M

That's $167,000 per unit.

If you wanted to build Flux today it would likely cost in the ballpark of $71M or $330K per unit.

@ashafferwx.bsky.social How common are 70-degree dew points in mid-September? Seems like the corn is sweating longer than it should.

I dare you to go to Annunciation School and tell our grieving community, in effect, guns don’t kill kids, antidepressants do.

Just shut up. Stop peddling bullshit. You should be fired.

Here are four photos I took this weekend without leaving the boundaries of Minneapolis:

"Fans would likely need to subscribe to ESPN either directly or through an operator, and then, for an added price, they would be able to receive their local teams’ games."
Twins would be one of the five teams.
NEWS: MLB and ESPN have a framework agreement that would give the network the exclusive rights to sell all out-of-market regular-season games digitally and in-market games for five clubs over the next three years, sources told The Athletic.

I live on this block. Apparently this school was associated with De LaSalle for a period following its time as a public school.

It's important to contact the project manager for your feedback to be heard, but please keep your comments to them on the substance and be respectful. They may agree with you, but they have a professional responsibility to be an honest broker.

I appreciate @lauragmitchell.com re-skeeting this. One small example, but earlier this week on a work-from-home day I biked up to the Uptown CVS to pick up a prescription at lunch time. This was not a diversion from an alternate bike route. I would have used the car if not for that amazing facility.
One fun bicycling in Minneapolis fact; during the recent stretch of warm and sunny weather, our counter on Bryant Ave recorded the highest 3+ day totals of bicyclists since the new bikeway opened, averaging exactly 999.25 riders a day past the count point for the whole twelve-day period.

This is bad.
I somehow missed that T-mobile has acquired Minneapolis internet provider USI, which has provided the best local fiber in my area, and I think we are headed for worse times as a result … guess we’ll see in September. www.bizjournals.com/twincities/n...
