We have insanely heavy rain here
Gotta drive the gentrification wave somehow
From memory it was for personal safety reasons. May be manufactured memory but I think due to organised crime, could have been entirely a systemic racism issue too :/
A friend did a lot of voluntary radio comms work for Red Cross around the time of the earthquake. For whatever reason involvement was apparently discouraged from a pretty senior level.
Team van or single cab flat deck over here :-)
Barns also work for having your own bouldering wall
Sorry for ruining the dream
The other one is that it will likely self destruct in a Chch or Kaikoura sized quake. HMU if you want me to do a deep dive and subsequent brain dump on it

Hands up if you managed to maintain friendships with other men that didn’t depend on identifying an out group to hate together
Our neighbours ended up with about 3 weeks worth of firewood from just one of the trees that blew down.
Submillimetre wave RF radat would probably work too thinking about it
Make the whole table a detector screen, use lead ink in the card manufacture and hang a really spicy source up in the roof? Easy 🤣
Or get an inverter that can do daytime emergency power
Let us know if you need help, this network is big.
Elderly neighbours had a ~50 year old almond tree down and blocking their driveway. 4 hours chainsaw time cleaning up their and another neighbours' downed trees. Overall our corner of the village got off very lightly indeed.
23rd of October storm report: No noticeable damage to our place, bar some pine trees that were wind pruned. Power out for ~26 hours, powered essentials including the dishwasher with our MG4. One NZ and 2 Degrees mobile both brought in generators for their site.
