Always the anthropocentric thinking: it's not "a first in insects," but rather, "the first time we humans understand that insects understand time." Which says more about our shortsightedness than about insects' abilities.

I always wondered how knowledge and progress of civilizations could possibly get lost again.

Now I know.

It's simply human stupidity, which is both endless and persistent.

More drones seen in Belgium. It looks to me the Russians go from nation to nation - Poland, Germany, Denmark, Belgium.
Who's next?

And can we please start taking these things down?

The U.S. isn’t just chasing drug cartels. With carrier groups, bombers, and tanker planes massing in the Caribbean, this looks far bigger... more like prep for a major regional operation than a narcotics mission, or even just to oust Venezuela’s president.

It's slowly sinking in: the only possible outcome of the constant escalation coming from the White House, inside and outside the US, is violence. Everyone else can keep shying away from it, but they will push, and push, and push - with ICE, with demolition, with aircraft carriers. It will erupt.

"Donald Trump urged Volodymyr Zelenskyy to accept Russia’s terms for ending its war in a volatile White House meeting on Friday, warning that Vladimir Putin had said he would “destroy” Ukraine if it did not agree."

Proving once again Europe cannot count on the US anymore.

Let's stick to our guns.

If they claim they haven't heard the quote, play it for them and ask for a response.

If they claim it's being taken out of context, play a longer version and ask for a response.

If they try to sidestep the issue, play it over again and ask for a response.
STEPHANOPOULOS: Hold on a second. Answer the question. As Speaker, do you believe it's appropriate to use American cities as training grounds for the military, calling those people 'the enemy within'?

JOHNSON: I'm not comment on your characterization of what the president said.

Training for what?

Sooner or later, dictators shift their focus outwards.

Nazi speeches, posters, and films warned Germans that defeat would not come from armies at the borders but from betrayal inside.

The term Volksverräter (“traitor to the people”) became a deadly label.

Goebbels hammered this theme: the “enemy within”.
