I get that scanlations ≠ licenses, but I do feel that a multi billion dollar industry like manga would figure out a better way to gauge interests. Cause it's really just vibes based atp, & I don't think "buying a manga in a language I can't read" is a valid strategy for most fans

A thing I appreciate about SWC is bc of the demons, it's allowed to be both metaphorical & real at the same time. Yes, Duchess is a demon who will kill people who don't love them, but that "killing" also represents failed relationships. It's why people who misunderstand it are so eye-roll worthy

I'd also like to add: when many forms of art as entertainment (books, games, etc.) are released internationally, they are frequently priced according to what's affordable in Japan or the US/EU/AU, which means they're relatively expensive in some markets even if they do get an official release there
Idk as an artist when I hopefully release a book and I release games Im not gonna get frustrated at people who pirate because they aren't the issue, the fact any of us have to work to eat and stay sheltered is.

We did something different with the credits for Demonschool. We used this format: name, title, lengthy description of what they did. Often you see credits in games where you don't know what the credited developer was actually responsible for. We wanted to give people proper, actual credit.

Credits are basically a free space. Players will watch them or not. Those who do will come to understand how each person participated. We also credit everyone who ever touched the game in any way. This means for a relatively small team our credits are long. But who cares? Why be stingy with it?
