This is your reminder that the climate killing, electricity draining, data centres that are required to support job destroying AI, are this Labour govt's big (and only) idea for saving the UK economy.

I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

🚨It's time there was investigation into Russian interference in our politics.

And the first person they should question is Nigel Farage.

The more I think about this, the more it really, really, REALLY bothers me

We've reached a point where a text-based reference fabrication engine - comfortably the most effective machine liar we've ever invented - is being pushed by an ultra-polluting tech company and accepted by climate scientists
Deeply absurd. This Google PDF published on a blog (arxiv, not peer reviewed) claims an LLM is "PhD level" but in most cases the MAJORITY of reference URLs were invalid or inaccessible.

A PhD sitting down and just fabricating >50% of sources = career ending

Please sign this petition for a public inquiry into Russian influence on UK politics.

I don't care if you're left or right, Reform or Corbynite - we can't allow a hostile foreign nation to run riot in our political ecosystem.

Sign and share.

AI seems to be an expensive way to do someone else’s job as well as you reckon they probably do it, whatever, but no use for anything you do yourself, where you can professionally tell it’s hopeless.

Good luck with the bubble, lads.

The UK is a strongly pro-choice country with 86% of Britons wanting abortion to be legal in all or most cases. But the US anti-choice movement has been investing heavily into campaigns in Britain, and Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party seems to be support the interference.
The worrying rise of US anti-abortion rhetoric is in full force - how deep is Reform UK's involvement?
Money is pouring into anti-abortion campaigns in Britain, and it seems Nigel Farage’s party isn’t pushing back…

The American car industry quite deliberately designs its products so that they kill people. They know this. They are not ignorant of how their products work.

They don't care.
Trigger warning.

“In crashes, SUVs are more likely to strike vital organs in the core of adults’ bodies & heads of children. Hitting pedestrians above their center of gravity means they’re more likely to be knocked forward & down and then be driven over.”

Plus more likely to hit in the 1st place.

i just read something about grief from C.S. Lewis and his book, “A Grief Observed”

basically, when someone you love dies, it isn’t just them that you miss, but the parts of yourself that person brought out of you that can never be brought out again.

i feel that with my dad.

Maybe this is a good time to get proportional representation off the ground
I cannot see any scenario in which Labour retain power in 2029.

Net result of their 5 calamitous years will be:

- A diminished horrible inward looking country which promotes cruelty to immigrants as a virtue

- A series of half-baked half-started initiatives

- Reform government

- End of Labour

A key point about "volunteering" is that it should be "voluntary". By forcing migrants to volunteer this government not only treats us as if we are a free resource, but also ignores everything else we go through. This policy is dehumanising and exploitative.
