No, the Canadian version predates the American version. Canadian Thanksgiving predates the American Thanksgiving, with the earliest recorded celebration in Canada in 1578, over 40 years before the famous 1621 American feast.

Newsom, Pritzker, et al are doing everything they can to get Americans to comprehend that the U.S. is a failed democracy, but they won't succeed because Americans are steeped in American Exceptionalism, i.e., the U.S. is a beacon, the greatest nation in the world, etc. They won't believe it.
