Hello! This is my thread of film reviews for 2025 - Bluesky edition! Bet you're glad you left Twitter now, eh.
A ★★★★ review of Lethal Weapon (1987)
The 80s Xmas X! I'd never seen someone eat cocaine in a film before when I first saw Lethal Weapon. And I haven't seen anyone do it since.

I played Braid recently. Jumping on blokes' heads and solving jigsaws. That's it. It's crap.
There’s a pretty concerted effort to rehabilitate Blow’s image from people who swear by the mantra of separating the art from the artist, but I will tell you a truth that will get lost in this debate:

it’s not like Braid was that good
Okay please let's not call him that

It's a Wachowskis film. Therefore crap.
With CLOUD ATLAS coming out on 4K next week, where do you stand in the CLOUD ATLAS camp:

Masterpiece or Disaster?

I reckon it would be really easy to run this account without including reviews with ableist slurs in them. Prick.

Watching Arsenal is such a mortifyingly tedious ordeal that I was actually thankful when my dad put Who Wants To Be a Millionaire on instead.

The top one is still Gozu, people were losing their minds at the ending. But also the Greek film Apples at HOME in Manchester because it was the first thing I went to see after the 2021 lockdown and I was just so happy to be out in the world again. Great film, too.
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

The Light asking me if I'll be buying tickets to see Fackham Hall and clearly misjudging how much I hate myself.

This commercial for French's Mustard from 1987 is equal parts charming and also kinda unsettling, but what strikes me is the work that went into the absolutely delightful puppetry and practical effects for a *mustard commercial*!! Imagine that today??

All I'm saying is that we need to hold off on the Netflix / Warner discourse until we discover what this means for The Nice Guys 2.

I am starting EMDR in the New Year. Which sounds like an upcoming drug habit or becoming a DJ, delete as applicable.

My brain can't comprehend the Bears being a good team. After 40 years it just can't do it.

This was once my avatar on a forum I was on 20 years ago called El Saano. Absolutely ridiculous that I just stumbled across it after all this time!

Absolutely bizarre that United wouldn't do a minute's silence or applause for Mani considering they walk out to a Stone Roses song. The fuck.
