If you're in jail for a year and a half with no indictment and no lawyer, that starts to be prison. Without conviction. Or charges.

This chapter of the @thewaroncars.bsky.social new book is hard to read as a parent. It’s one of the big motivations that I’ve become a more vocal advocate but the timescales for change in our area are just sooooo long. The freedom and growth we’ve taken from kids is just shameful to think about.

ICE agents arrested a Chinese father and his 6-year-old son, separating the two and sending the father to Orange County Jail while the whereabouts of the son remain unknown as of Tuesday morning.
