100,000 people marched for trans rights in London in July and got almost no coverage

Newspapers are like a magnifying glass pointing at these tiny protests, hoping to start a blaze

Fuck the times
Times: "Asylum protests swell across the UK " headline, reporting an underwhelming wave.

Leeds "draws 70"
Cardiff "disorganised + small"
Altrincham "*swelled* to around 200"
Cheshunt about 250
Chichester: about 100
Portsmouth: about 70 v 70 on each side

I don't think this is laziness. I think its a chronic contempt for talent because it is something they can't buy. Artists are better than they can ever be. AI fakes the skills, but not the creativity

You can't buy talent, you can't buy smarts, and there is this huge push against artists and experts

Not only are generations fake, they’re also something we basically invented a few decades ago. Compare when generations occurred (shaded areas) with when we settled on their names.

Whenever someone mocks “science for science’s sake”, I point them to discoveries like this one — which literally emerged from looking at common dirt.

Seeking knowledge is a process and an ethos.

The Highlander movie never explains how the Kurgan has access to a death metal stage costume in 1536, and that's a good thing.

It's a movie, not an alternate universe

Are they meant to be speaking #Gaelic in these scenes? No, its a movie

It is kind of amazing to me that the hiring process does a good job of actively weeding out autistic people,

And then when autistic people actually get jobs they're like "wow direct and clear communication and a strong reliable work ethic, just what we're looking for!"

Could've fooled me..
Stop using chatgpt adopt an autistic with special interests TODAY this deal wont last forever mostly cause they get overstimulated pretty fast but hey great for the environment amirite

I loved this show as a nerdy #autistic 7 year old, and it is 100% the reason I became a scientist. I was making Beakman's World jokes at my phd graduation.

The rat-suit guy being both a 4th wall breaking actor degraded by his embarassing job, and also an actual rat at times blew my little mind!
I don't know who needs to hear this, but all four seasons of Beakman's World are on Tubi.

One of the best science shows for kids ever produced and one that definitely should be mentioned alongside Mr. Wizard, 3-2-1 Contact, and Bill Nye the Science Guy.
