so, i'm asking you to do the hard work more often. You'll find it actually doesn't take much. I've had many people tell me how much it means to just have someone listen, to be patient with them, to gently correct them when they misstep instead of monstering them.

But there's a whole host of reasons people balk at this. It's sometimes hard work. It requires patience and love. Far better to speak high minded ideals that don't require that kind of action. Far better to cover up your own failings by refusing to address them and universalizing them. It's easier

my fellow transfems and queer women in general, suffer from isolation, disconnection from community, and stability. We're cut out from family, from gatherings, from public spaces, etc. Some of the best things you can do is make a group call or a movie night or invite friends over for dinner

genuinely, I think it's a very good thing if you give the transfems in your life a safe space to talk about all the horrifically traumatic things they've gone through and also told them how fucked up some of those things are because we'll often downplay so many things and need to hear it
I am continually amazed at the things transfems have gone through and how much we all endure and still manage to persist. None of us deserve any of it, but we soldier on and sometimes it's nice to swap stories and commiserate about it
