I’m always thinking about this passage from the Duskmourn story, where Kaito finds pause by his observations about Zimone.

Zimone here is relatable to how I feel as a newer player in Magic spaces, particularly online and especially when people talk about Magic burnout or Set Fatigue. (1/3)

Can you say more/point me in the direction of your thoughts here? This is one I have a hard time understanding. We still get 3 in universe sets with stories, which to me feels like a good balance to let the story sink in, especially given the new novel, and keep writers good w/o set fatiguing them.

Grem’s insight here is nice and I think points towards how I’m feeling:

There is for sure a negativity problem amongst content creators **BUT** this question in THIS specific survey is not the place NOR who should be leading that convo and it’s frustrating that it hinders that actual conversation.

I’m only going to say this once and move on.

I do believe fatigue is real, but creators feel it more because they feel like they can’t skip a set ever, otherwise they fade into obscurity.

That frustration then gets reflected in their content, and affects average viewers.

Magic was super hyped for a while to make the Planeswalker symbol artworks and I loved seeing them adapted to each plane. From @rpancoast.bsky.social to @chasestone.bsky.social to @adampaquette.bsky.social and @tituslunter.bsky.social. They made for stellar computer backgrounds to hype a set.

I think I get annoyed at people who constantly talk about the profit motive ruining their favorite game because DUH. Its ruining everything. Its ruining healthcare and food and water and the free spread of information and its killing the planet and Magic the Gathering isnt even in the top 100 things
