The nerve of you to say this.
It was literally broadcast on national TV because they started their terrorism and violence campaign in front of a reporter who was live. Angelenos are not the problem. It is the cops, and the cops own Mayor Bass. We are not in austerity crisis, the LAPD is a cancer sucking our budget dry.
During the last No Kings protests in June, Karen Bass’s LAPD tear gassed and beat peaceful protesters. LAPD trampled people with horses. LAPD blew a man’s finger off with the a stun grenade. LAPD fired teargas and rubber bullets at people’s heads.
Peaceful protest is a vital part of our democracy.

Today, thousands of Angelenos are expected to gather for No Kings Day demonstrations across the city.

I urge everyone to express themselves peacefully and safely.
Actually worked up the courage to gently dip in and out of speaking Japanese to the hairstylist today, please clap. I’ve chickened out of every other scenario where that could happen over the last three years.

REMINDER: LA's "budget crisis" is entirely created by the LAPD. They cost taxpayers millions in lawsuit settlement payments because LAPD can't stop breaking the law.

"New Far Side comics" was definitely not on my bingo card for this week. They're not bad!

Pretty challenging and difficult film but really cool. Packed to the brim with the founding figures of industrial culture, particularly Burroughs and Genesis. If you can handle that vibe at its most punk, it’s a great watch. Bizarrely, I caught it on Tubi a couple years ago.
Another great new physical reissue of a mythical obscure record from @coldspringrecords.bsky.social . I would show the foldout too but for the overhead glare lol. They do such great work, and are also still shipping to the US under the “informational material” exemption unlike many Bandcamp vendors.

RSS was one of the truly great inventions of the Internet—entirely decentralized sharing to your own personalized feed of the internet—and every company is working hard to kill it.

Moments from our visit to the excellent #AcademyMuseum on #MuseumRow LA, including the small featured exhibit "#Cyberpunk: Envisioning Possible Futures Through Cinema" and various featured costumes from another nearby exhibit. This museum is really good!! I haven't been before.
Did some grass touching yesterday with @alabapsi.bsky.social in the small Redwood Grove at the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, one of the few places in Southern California that has redwood trees.

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.
Best Ministry record imo. Title track goes so hard. Perfect blend of Thrill Kill Kult sampladelic industrial and the thrashy stuff to come.
The Land Of Rape And Honey, our third studio album was released October 11, 1988 on Sire Records. The album peaked at 164 on Billboard 200 and certified Gold by the RIAA. “Stigmata” was the single. Videos were made for “Stigmata” and “Flashback.”

Autechre’s set last night was definitely the best out of the three times I’ve seen them, first in 08 for Quaristice and then in 15. You can tell they’ve been gigging heavily for the last 3 years. This was just straight up crowd-pleasing IDM, of an energy level that isn‘t on their records. Amazing.
Having a great time at the Autechre show
Oooooh Philippe 🤤 it’s been a minute
Fuck, my friend reminded me how much late Hollis shit rules again and now all the powerful moments from Eden and Laughing Stock and 98 S/T are swirling around my head in one powerful iconic sonic miasma. Take my freedom!
