This is an attempt to continue disarming a population by banning one of the most popular firearms platforms in the country, dressed up as public safety. This law will only affect legal gun owners and I have my doubts it will be effective at reducing crime.

It is a waste of time and taxpayer money.

Cali's new Glock ban (AB 1127) aims to protect people from gun violence by making it illegal to own a gun that can be modified to be automatic.

Glock switches are already illegal to own in CA and installing a glock switch is also illegal.

How is making something triple illegal going to stop crime?

Ofc law enforcement is exempt, only they can be trusted with guns that can be converted to full auto.

The 2A hasn't been rewritten, the wording hasn't changed since it was first written. The interpretation has changed moving guns from tools of state and community defense to more of a self defense role. Americans were always able to own guns and keep them in their homes.

The 2A hasn't been rewritten, and definitely hasn't been changed to allow glocks specifically because they can be modified to fire automatic.

If you want the population to be disarmed and to give the state a monopoly on violence just say that.

The law bans any striker fired pistol with a "cruciform trigger" meaning any glock or glock clone. Most fired guns are easy to make full auto, but glock is the most popular so that's what the lawmakers are going after first.

I've heard the idea that the 94 ban was what propelled the ar platform to popularity, I'm expecting to see a big rise in glock clones and 3dp glock kits if this ban ever actually goes into effect.

Bet Glock sales 📈 right now in CA. Kind of like before the WA ban everyone was racing to their closest gun store for AR’s & mags. Just look at the AR platform’s popularity before & after the 94 ban. Turns out when tyrants crack down with authoritarian bans it makes people want them way more.
