We collected 289 guns at today’s buyback, including:
- 129 pistols
- 85 rifles
- 41 shotguns

I am grateful to have these off the street and out of our neighborhoods, and I appreciate everyone who took the time to turn in a gun today.

If we're serious about the 2028 Olympics being transit-first, Metro needs to be safe, accessible—and fun.

That's why I 𝑓𝑙𝑜𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑑 the idea of a water taxi between Long Beach & San Pedro. Just now, the Metro board unanimously voted on the next step to turn that idea into reality.

ICE agents have been abusing their power across LA County for months. They are violating residents' rights every day they are on our streets.

If you see federal agents acting unlawfully, you can now report it to the California Department of Justice: oag.ca.gov/ReportMiscon...
The Trump Admin is engaging in a campaign of terror that has left some CA communities scared to go about their lives.

CA DOJ created a portal that allows Californians to report federal agent misconduct.

Federal agents have broad authority to enforce federal laws, but they must do so lawfully.

✔️ My motion with @lindseyphorvath.bsky.social to ban ICE and other law enforcement agencies from wearing masks and concealing their identities has been APPROVED.

We cannot have secret police terrorizing our communities. If this law means a fight in court—I think it's a fight worth having.
December 2, 2025 at 7:40 PM
Badges ON. Masks OFF.

Today the Board of Supervisors will vote on my motion with @lindseyphorvath.bsky.social to ban law enforcement—including ICE—from wearing masks and concealing their identity.

I’m sorry to hear about the passing of Bob Foster.

Our work together goes back decades—he was my boss at Edison before I ran for LA City Council.

Bob was not only a visionary leader, but he was a great friend who leaves behind an incredible legacy.

May he rest in peace.

This Thanksgiving, I'm grateful for the hundreds of volunteers who stepped up to help their communities at our food giveaways over the last few weeks.

This has been a difficult year— but the outpouring of generosity across LA County this holiday season has been inspiring.

50 years ago, a group of South Bay women came together to fight for greater representation and empowerment—and formed the National Women’s Political Caucus South Bay.

Their work never stopped.

On your 50th anniversary—thank you to the NWPC South Bay for your ongoing advocacy.

ICE is continuing to terrorize our communities and they hit Long Beach hard today.

They are not communicating with local law enforcement, and we know they are not targeting violent criminals.

Today, on Transgender Day of Remembrance, we honor the memory of every trans person lost to anti-trans violence.

I stand with our trans community as we fight for an LA County that is free from the darkness of hate.

I moved to adjourn our meeting in memory of Jesse Marquez, a fierce and unwavering advocate for his community of Wilmington.

I will miss him, his honesty and the way he pushed all of us—including me—to do better. Jesse may be gone, but the movement he built is very much alive.

Ending veteran homelessness in LA County could be within reach.

But first, we have to remove barriers and make it easy for veterans to get the help they need. So I am bringing forward a motion to lay the groundwork that will allow us to eliminate veteran homelessness countywide.
