We’ve fought to block illegal forced outing policies in California schools, and we’ll continue standing strong against the Trump Administration’s effort to target LGBTQ+ people.

Today, and always, we must fight to ensure all our communities are safe, included, and supported.

@cagovernornewsom.bsky.social  signed Assemblymember Gabriel’s #AB1002 into law!  CA DOJ can now seek revocation or suspension of contractor’s licenses for wage theft violations.

Contractors who engage in wage theft will be held accountable.

Senator Arreguin’s #SB786 and Senator Caballero’s #SB808 have both been signed into law by @cagovernornewsom.bsky.social

We’re proud to have sponsored these new laws that will help get Californians into new homes more quickly by avoiding unnecessary delays in housing construction.

We’re demanding AG Bondi reassert the independence of the Justice Dept and immediately end all politically motivated prosecutions.

President Trump is actively targeting those he views as his enemies, and the U.S. DOJ is blindly doing his bidding.

This should send chills down all of our spines.

I’m joining 10 AGs in pushing back against the Trump Administration’s baseless and unprecedented attacks on nonprofits’ freedom of speech.

We won’t stand idly by as President Trump weaponizes government and tries to punish those who don’t agree with him. oag.ca.gov/news/press-r...
Charities and nonprofits are woven into the fabric of American society, in every state and community. Any attempts to target nonprofits for simply fulfilling their missions, no matter their beliefs or worldview, is a gross violation of their and all Americans' First Amendment rights to free speech and free association.

In a country founded on the right to hold different opinions than the king, the President's shameless attempt to punish nonprofits and charities who may not co-sign his extremist agenda is deeply un-American.

Our team is in court fighting to protect SNAP participants’ data from President Trump’s attempts to bully states into providing it.

No one should have to choose between putting food on the table or allowing their personal, private data to be used in Trump’s mass surveillance database.

Everyone deserves a safe and dignified place to call home.

If you believe your rights as a tenant have been violated, please send us your stories.

At CA DOJ, we’ll continue to fight to protect tenants.

@cagovernornewsom.bsky.social has signed Sentator Hurtado’s #SB763 into law! This new law increases penalties for wealthy corporations looking to illegally profit at the cost of workers, consumers, and honest businesses.

A fair and competitive marketplace helps us all.

We’re asking the court to reinstate our order preventing President Trump from federalizing the California National Guard as our case continues.

President Trump is seeking to deploy the California National Guard as his own personal, traveling police force, indefinitely, anywhere in the country.

California communities have no desire to see their streets turned into a training ground for the military.

Neither do our friends in D.C., Illinois, and Oregon.

I urge the court to see this political gamesmanship for what it is — and put an immediate stop to it before it goes any further.

This past June, we sued one of the largest landlords in CA for violating tenant protection laws.

Now, we’re asking tenants who’ve been exposed to unsafe housing conditions to share their stories with us at oag.ca.gov/report.
