Ah yeah there was a decline by then, most of the art scene was in Tumblr through the 2010s. The mid-late '00s was the 'peak era', sites were so simple & forum based that you had no choice but to interact most of the time.
It's a shame what constant optimization has done to web communities

Out of curiosity, around what year did you start using DA? I know we met in the mid 2010s but we know how people want to start over and such-
I know people split DA pre & post-Eclipse, but I feel like there have been shifts community-wise before all that & people got their nostalgia lenses on lol

Hey hey, I would like to join if there's still spots!
If I'm not drawing or designing OCs for others, I'm developing my story. These are some previous arts of my characters :]

I feel like that's been more prevalent lately in animated & IRL film pacing, to zero in on all the excitement and skip the slow stuff. Admittedly it's a bit nauseating for me lmao.

VERY TOUGH PICK..but Howl remains as the one who fascinates me the most.
The story he's from focuses on subjective identity based on perception. Bodies are real (following proper rendering), but faces are visually & functionally void symbols. His silhouette and head sigils are perfect.

Howl [jackal on left] & Spindle [porcupine on right] - the lead rivals.

9. Strangest may be Dr. Adrien(ne) Brookes, is in my Chinese RP campaign. A failed rebis made by a widowed professor fused with his wife.
They are the ethics professor in the Dark Academy, carer of a feral human, & childhood friend of my main. Ally or enemy depends on the sanity gauge.

Just a mugshot of Dr. Brookes. A scrawny maned wolf humanoid with scant facial hair, a braid, tall ears, and dark pince-nez glasses. [Portrait by MorbidKeii bc homies get the scrunkalo viewing privileges, language barriers be damned]

[Art by Morbidkeii] Witness the chill scrimple, just a book and a smoke. They have double the joints for each limb, marked by a line of scars. There is also a stitched scar in the middle of the chest.

An unstable Brookes. They have double irises and the neck is elongated, crooked, & bulging with spilt entrails acting as tentacles, barely contained by the muzzle. A hand is reaching out from the chest scar, fingers poking out of the gaps and under the skin
