This 1992 ad introduces readers to Prophecy of the Shadow, an RPG for PC platforms by SSI

Magicians are hunted by a cruel king and you barely escape an assassin's dagger that claims your mentor's life in a top-down quest where combat is an automated click away and topic lists drive conversation!

Two screenshots show scenes from the game -- the top down view for exploring and adventure and a conversation screen with a bearded NPC -- in a game that feels welcoming towards RPG newcomers.

The ad boasts the game's "stunning digitized art and animation, a dynamic soundtrack and colorful sound effects" while being "fast and easy to play, thanks to point-and-click commands, graphical inventories, and conversation interface."

Remember folks. The original bluesky ethos by us bluesky elders (apparently I count?) is block and move on.

This is what made this site unpalatable to the right early on, and we can continue to make it unpalatable to them.
