Spent the last week or so trying to make a photo out of the road leading from my house.

This is the closest one to "ok" but it still needs work.

Done not perfect. :-)
A slightly misty sunrise in the Fens. Recently chopped shrubs dominate centre left and a road leads the eye away. Grasses and sedge border the road with a drain (the other side). The sky is over exposed (blown out) which adds a slightly ethereal feel to the photo but is different to the subtle mistiness of the real life view.

After today’s photograph description, l have included a poem l wrote about this scene. Our picture shows a wide field of ripened grain, likely barley or wheat, stretching across the entire scene taken just down the road from where l live in rural Ireland. The stalks are tall and heavy, their heads bowed and tangled, colored in warm shades of gold, bronze, and deep amber. A narrow path runs straight through the center of the field, cutting a dark channel between the dense crops and drawing the eye toward the distant horizon. In the far background, low farm buildings sit small and quiet against the skyline. Above them, the sky dominates nearly half of the image. Thick, dark storm clouds roll overhead in layered shades of charcoal, grey, and steel blue. Lighter patches of sky glow faintly through breaks in the cloud cover, with a late afternoon approaching storm looming. The overall mood is dramatic and moody, the warmth and richness of the grain contrast strongly with the heavy, threatening sky. There is a sense of wind moving through the field, as if the grain is whispering beneath the coming rain and finally we have a simple white border frame to our picture. And now today’s poem… I call it… “Before the Rain” Golden heads in quiet prayer, Bowed beneath a darkening sky, The earth holds its patient breath As storm-born shadows wander by. A narrow path through whispering grain Leads where distant rooftops lie, Between the warmth of growing life And thunder’s gathering reply.
